As I mentioned before, we are working on posters for a book reading in my Communication Studio class. Above, I've posted four recent mockups of my poster. The book that I have chosen is Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen. I struggled at first with the imagery because I felt compelled to make the poster historically accurate. But I finally broke away from that after a very helpful critique from my fellow classmates. My new idea was sparked by the rather absurd Valentine's Day Lifetime movie marathon that happens every year. I combined Austen's classic theme of love with chocolate. What woman can resist on "Singles Awareness Day"?
i have not forgotten that it is fashion week - i've just been lazy. it's awful - i know. and i'd be lying if i said that i was going to make up for my laziness in this post, because i am not. however, i have had the opportunity to review all of the collections that have been shown so far, and here are my abridged thoughts so far:
i favored the collections of ADAM, Alexander Wang, Boy by band of outsiders, Elise overland, and lacoste (although they were a bit inundated with monochromatic suiting - could've cut back, in my opinion). honorable mention goes to jason wu, lela rose, and united bamboo (cute hats).
