Split Vacation

My mind is still on vacation, but my body must be present at school. All of this restlessness is such nonsense. It's a split vacation between body and mind. Lame.

However, on a positive note:
-I finally had my strawberry rhubarb pie at Bakers Square!
-I ordered my final pair of boots for the season.
-I have a rediscovered John Mayer's Continuum album (especially, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Dreaming With a Broken Heart, & Gravity)

I wonder, if my life were simpler (the way I wish it was) , would it be easier? Or would it just be boring?

National Pie Day

Below, are the lyrics to a lullaby from the movie Waitress, as well as the trailer. Not only has the song been stuck in my head, but I've really been craving strawberry rhubarb pie. Anyways, the movie is charming and witty in an unexpected way, and I highly recommend it.

Baby Don't You Cry - Quincy Coleman

When the world is gray and bleak
Baby don't you cry
I will give you every bit of love that is in my heart
I will bake it up… into a simple little pie

Baby don't you cry gonna make a pie
Gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle
Baby don’t be blue
Gonna make for you
Gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle
Gonna be a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with strawberry love

Baby don’t you cry
Gonna make a pie
Hold you forever in the middle of my heart.

Baby heres the sun
Baby heres the sky
Baby I’m the light and I’m your shelter
Baby you are mine
I could freeze the time

Keep you in my kitchen with me forever
Gonna be a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with strawberry love

Baby don’t you cry
Gonna make a pie
Hold you forever in the middle of my heart.

Gonna bake a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with butterscotch love

Gonna be a pie from the heaven above
Gonna be filled with banana cream love

Baby don’t you cry
Gonna make a pie

Hold you forever x 2
Hold you forever in the middle of my heart

Target Practice and Whatnot

I went to a shooting range today with Ed and Peter - only because Ed's back, though. But wow. I cannot fully express how much I royally sucked. The gun kept jamming cause I couldn't release the recoil correctly - or something. I don't think I've ever been so nervous! I am supposedly going again sometime soon. We will see. I will post a picture of my target paper soon.

After that, we came back to my place, where we (Peter) cooked some pretty awesome salmon and potatoes, and salad. As of recently, I've started to remember how much fun cooking is - especially cooking for/with friends. I'd really like to make more of a habit out of it.

But the thing I was most excited about was finishing painting my room! Thank you to Tammy and Joyce for helping me paint! And thank you to Ed and Peter for helping me move all my furniture back into place!

Then at night, we went to Lauren's dance concert, and she was great. BUT those girls are babies, and they dance like skanks!!! I don't think they know how old they are - it's really a tragic sight to see.

Today was a good day.

Ready, Set....Rewind?!

So today I had my Harry Potter english class - interesting to say the least. My professor is super fanatic about the stuff. We're getting split into "houses" and we'll be receiving "house points" throughout the semester. Pretty intense stuff, but seems easy enough as long as I have my morning coffee.

Next, I was supposed to have Form and Space II but instead, I'm sitting here in the library typing this blog because I can't take that class. Three flipping absences in Form and Space I landed me a big fat "F" - it's not even cause I sucked! (Which i did...but i still would have passed damn it!) So I have a screwed up and NON time-efficient class schedule. My Tuesdays have a big fat block of 3 hours where I do nothing in the middle of the day. Annoying? I think, yes. Now my Mondays are my long days, and I'm going to have to take Form and Space II during the summer - which means I might not be able to take any liberal arts classes. I'm pretty royally pissed at myself. I really need to step it up in all of my classes now - and that makes me feel more stressed. Woo freaking hoo.

On a happier note, Ed's coming home today - YAY! A well deserved break, indeed.

Ready, Set, Draw!

So today was the first day of the semester - seemed very long, even though it wasn't. I am extremely sore from yard work and painting my room. I feel as if it has begun - the madness. I pray I'll have the strength to pull through on top of it all.

Also, I'd KILL for a massage right now.
